ELIZABETH
DAY FALLS FOR THE SHROUD!
COMPANY PRESS RELEASE HOQUIAM, WA – 2
February 2002: Dead End Street® is announce that author Jacqueline
Druga-Marchetti promoted her novel THE SHROUD this morning from
one to five AM on Pittsburgh's Fifty Thousand Watt KDKA's 'The
Elizabeth Day Show." The program, which reaches thirty-eight
states and more than one-half of Canada, is widely regarded as
one of the finest late night talk shows worldwide.
After the show's airing, Dead End Street® CIO Ivan R. Black
surmised, "To put it mildly, Ms. Jacqueline was a hit! We
are very proud of her."
"THE SHROUD has generated a plethora of pre-release publicity
and we are very excited about the possibilities," commented
Black at a recent press conference. "The whole idea is so
captivating; and the story itself is enthralling. We're excited
for its March first release."
The book centers on Doctor Marcus Leon, who has just completed
the most controversial scientific endeavor in the history of mankind.
He has extracted a small strand of DNA from the blood trapped in
the Shroud of Turin, and he has cloned the image upon it - the
man known throughout history as Jesus of Nazareth.
Blinded by the apparent return of the Savior, the masses abandon
everything and flock to the clone. But, unlike the rest of society,
Dr. Leon quickly realizes that which has long since been known
but seldom understood - science can replicate the body, but it
cannot touch the soul. Devoid of this essential spirit, the clone
is merely an empty, directionless vehicle waiting for a driver
- a position quickly assumed by the Anti-Christ. The prophecy shall
be fulfilled.
The strength of the Anti-Christ grows as the nascent and geographically
fragmented contingents of "non-believers" perish one
by one. Alone they are meek, but together they are mighty. And
hence, the search for one another begins. But can Dr. Leon marshal
the forces in time to save the world? Can the Anti-Christ be stopped?
